on new year's day we visited ma wan, an island about half an hour by car from my home. it used to be a little fishing village. but since some private housing estates were built on the other side of the island, the 'older' part is abandoned and deserted gradually.

we went to Fanling which is at the northern part of HK. we spent a morning in a farm, doing some farm works like removing weeds (with a sickle! for the first time in my life!), watching insects, little frogs and playing with cat. it was cloudy when we're working, and finally rained right after we've finished our work.

after enjoying a lovely lunch with some really fresh vegetables from the farm owners, we went to town centre and watched a movie at an old cinema. it was still raining after the movie. the name of the cinema can hardly be seen. in case somebody don't understand chinese, the 4 characters are 粉嶺戲院 (fun leng hay yuen, fanling cinema).
